Made for your activity : Configuration of payment methods

Payment is the most important moment of a sale. It is also the moment when your customer hesitates the most. So it needs to be simple, quick and safe. The payment methods are already built into your shop: you enter your account details, and you are ready to take money.

The payment methods available

Offer at least card payments and PayPal: those are the two methods online shoppers expect. The others are a bonus.

No commission from us

123Ventes takes no commission on your sales. Only your payment provider’s fees apply. With Stripe, in Europe, allow about 1.5% + €0.25 per card payment. On a €50 order, that comes to roughly €1.

On some platforms, a platform commission comes on top of the bank fees. Not here. We would rather the money from your sales stayed in your pocket. The full calculation is on the Shopify alternative page.

Secure payments

Card payments are handled by specialist providers such as Stripe or PayPal. Your customer types their card number on their side, never in your shop: you don’t see it and you don’t have to store it. They follow the banking security standards (PCI DSS) and the strong authentication required in Europe, the famous code sent by text message or approved in the banking app.

On your side, your shop is served over HTTPS, with its security certificate included. More details on the secure online shop page.

Start gently

Each payment method can run in test mode. You place a fake order with a test card, you check that everything goes smoothly, then you switch to live mode. Nobody is charged during your tests, not even you.

Your questions

When will I receive the money from my sales?

It depends on your payment provider. For example, Stripe usually pays the money into your bank account within seven days.

Do I need a business bank account?

Stripe and PayPal need a bank account to pay you the money from your sales. Depending on your legal status, an account dedicated to your business is often required, and in any case it makes your bookkeeping simpler.

How do I open a Stripe or PayPal account?

You sign up online on their website, in about twenty minutes. Then you copy your keys into your dashboard. If you get stuck, we will do it with you.

Can I accept payment in instalments?

It depends on the options your payment provider offers. Ask us, and we will look at what is possible for your shop together.
