Selling a product is good. Getting it to the customer is even better. The delivery options are already set up in your shop. You just need to enter your account details for each carrier.

The delivery options available

You only switch on the ones that suit you. A potter who ships fragile pieces and a pizza maker who delivers down the street don’t have the same needs.

Postage worked out by weight and destination

For each delivery option, you enter your rates by weight band: for example up to 1 kg, from 1 to 3 kg, from 3 to 10 kg. The shop adds up the weight of the items in the basket and applies the right rate.

Countries are grouped into zones (Western Europe, Southern Europe, North Africa, North America…). You set a rate for each zone, or you decide to deliver only in France. Your customers see the delivery cost before they pay. There are no nasty surprises at checkout, so fewer baskets get abandoned.

Free delivery without losing your margin

Free delivery sells, but somebody pays for it. With your shop’s promotion rules, you only offer it when it is worth it: above a certain amount, from a certain number of items, on one product category or for your loyal customers. The average basket goes up, and the carrier is paid for by an order that deserves it.

Click and collect, the unsung hero

Your customers order online and pick up their parcel from your shop. They pay no postage, and you get to see them in person. With a bit of luck, they leave with a second item.

Good packaging matters too

A damaged parcel means a disappointed customer and a return to deal with. Weigh your items packed, not bare: that is the weight the carrier charges for. For fragile items, a pick-up point is not always the best choice, and tracked home delivery saves a lot of trouble.

Your questions

Who pays the carrier’s fees?

The rates are the ones in your contract with each carrier. You then decide how much to charge your customers.

Can I deliver abroad?

Yes. You choose the zones you deliver to and the rate for each one. If you would rather stick to France at first, you only switch on France.

Do I need a contract with each carrier?

For Colissimo, Mondial Relay or DPD, you need a business account with them. ShippyPro lets you use a single account for several carriers. Click and collect and your own delivery need nothing at all.

Can I offer free delivery?

Yes, with a promotion rule: for example free delivery on orders over €60. You set the threshold.
